Johannes Gunst, born in 1984, co-founded the investigative desk at the magazine stern in 2010. In the following years, he specialized on security issues. He majored in communication sciences and already got on the short list of the Henri Nannen Preis twice: In 2010, with a piece about the Iranian nuclear program, and in 2013, with a investigative piece on the document destruction at the German Federal Intelligence Service (Bundesnachrichtendeinst) after the uncovering of the National Socialist Underground (NSU). While working as a journalist, Johannes Gunst was intensely dealing with the question how the internal information management might be optimised within the stern desk.
