Julia Grosse, born in Mainz in 1976, studied history of art, film and literature in Bochum. Over the last seven years she has worked as a culture correspondent in London for AD, taz, FAS, Merian and SZ Magazin. She is moreover affiliated to the journalists network Weltreporter.net.
She now lives with her husband and two children in Berlin and runs the online magazine Contemporary And (C&), which focusses on contemporary art from Africa and the diaspora. Versteh mich nicht falsch! Gesten weltweit. Das Handbuch was her first book, first self-published, then as a paperback by Piper in 2012. Thanks to Julia Grosse’s appearance at TV Total it became something of a surprise hit.
