Albrecht Vorster was born in Cologne in 1985 and is at present doing a PhD at the Institute of Medical Psychology at the University of Tübingen. He studied biology and philosophy at the University of Freiburg and at the Université de La Reuion. This was followed by research periods at various universities in the US and in Tel Aviv, where he studied the sleep of the fruit fly and the sea snail Aplysia californica. Since 2014 he has performed in more than twenty science slams and spoken at research conferences. In his leisure time he plays a lot of music and is co-founder of the neuroscientific band “Hippocamblues”.
