Franco Supino was born of Italian parents in Solothurn in 1965 and grew up bilingual. He studied German and French in Zürich and Florence and graduated with a thesis on Günter Eich. In 1995 Franco Supinos first novel Musica leggera appeared, in 1997 Die Schöne Welt oder Der Weg zurück followed, then in 1990 Gesang der Blinden and finally Ciao amore, ciao, with which he finished the Trilogie der Rückkehr.
Supino lives in Solothurn, where he teaches at the Pädagogische Hochschule Solothurn, with emphasis on the field »Culture and Education«. He obtained numerous prizes for his work.
