Thomas Schuler was born in 1965 and studied Political Science in Munich and in New York at the University of Columbia School of Journalism. For many years he has reported from New York for the Süddeutsche Zeitung and other newspapers and magazines. He has written books on Los Angeles, New York and the United Nations.
His biography Die Mohns, about the family of entrepreneurs behind the Bertelsmann Group, was a bestseller. Schuler writes for various newspapers and magazines, as the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Berliner Zeitung, Neue Zürcher Zeitung and Cicero. He now lives as a journalist in Munich, where he also teaches at the Munich School of Journalism and at other institutions. He is a member of the executive board of the network Recherche.
